Sydney to Hobart to MCG

As Official Tailor to both the Australian men's Test cricket team and the Unicoin ocean yacht racing team, it's fair to say we love Boxing Day.

From the ocean to the MCG, the only question is: what to watch, and when?

The annual Boxing Day Test kicks off at the MCG - an iconic fixture on Australia's sporting calendar. Notice the green and gold blazer the Australian captain wears for the coin toss? We make it here in Australia from the same fabric as the iconic ‘baggy green’ Test cap.

Speaking of captains, we asked former Australian skipper and all-time great Steve Waugh about his experience leading the team. “Treat every game as really special,” he told us. “You never know when your last game for Australia will be. It doesn't matter who it's against or what the scoreline is. That game is the most important of your life.”

From turf to surf: M.J. Bale has another icon competing this Boxing Day. The Unicoin ocean racing yacht - once known as Assassin, co-winner of the 1992 Sydney Hobart - returns to compete in the 80th Rolex Sydney Hobart with M.J. Bale proudly emblazoned across its spinnaker and mainsail. The crew wears garments from our collaboration with North Sails, including co-branded 'natural tech' nautical race wear, polos, and shorts.

Unicoin has one of the most experienced teams in the race. Skippered by 1992 race winner Peter Bremner, the crew features veteran Andrew Buckland (multiple world sailing titles) as sailing master and former world windsurfing champion Adrian Dunphy as helmsman. Collectively, the team has raced more than 120 Sydney Hobarts.

Racing in Division Three, Unicoin aims to win their rating band and challenge for overall race honours.

Go well, fellas!
