DIALLED UP EVENT ELEGANCE
What To Wear To The Everest & Caulfield Cup
How to dress like the money in this season’s two premier racing events
Spring is all about dressing from the front. Whether you’re popping the champagne or hitting up the Heath at Caulfield, it pays to turn up as the season’s best dressed.
The Melbourne Cup might be the race that stops a nation, but in Sydney the Everest is the event that brings city partygoers to a halt. Hailed as the “world’s richest turf race” this year on October 18 twelve thoroughbreds will compete over 1200m for a staggering $20m prize pool.
On the same day in Melbourne, covering double the distance as the Everest, and with a $6m prize pool, is the Caulfield Cup. The Caulfield Cup represents Racing Victoria’s official start of the 2026 Spring Racing Carnival and is almost 150 years old.
With a combined $26m on the line in both races, as an event goer it pays to look the money.
For the Everest, stick to the traditional touch of blue dress code or turn-up in high-impact dressing to sweep the style stakes.
Speak softly but carry a bit fit. The Courbet three-piece suit (above) woven in Italy with a self-stripe twill, keeps the art of getting dressed up again firmly in classical territory. To keep things understatated wear it with a pale blue shirt and accessories.
Alternatively, for a more extroverted approach, break free of convention with something bolder. The cherry-coloured Benozzo suit, below, is an especially flavourful take on big spring style. Keep the accessories subtle to let the suit do all the talking.
For the Caulfield Cup, kick off the Victorian Spring Carnival with timeless suits that exude poise and precision.
The Redon suit (below), woven from Super 120s wool in a tropical weave with subtle hatch-pattern, is a high-powered utility player that whispers quiet authority when styled with grey and blue, or spurred to grandeur with bold print ties and accessories. Wear the jacket as a separate and pair with our elevated Wantanabe side-tab trouser for an easy kind of elegance.
Seeking a more high-powered take? The three-piece Sironi suit (below) pulls the stripes off the clock and onto the track. Cut from breathable tropical wool, pop the style cork and come hot out of the gates with progressive blue-on-blue styling. Winner takes all.
